Never have I traveled outside of Del Rio as driver, alone.... Well I was with little sister Natalie, but I traveled home alone. So that counts. The trip was to Uvalde and I absolutely loved it. Had great tunes from my ipod, my camera in ready mode and a lovely scenery. I don't understand how some people can hate Texas or thinks it is ugly. I ,once again, absolutely love Texas... Just gotta love it! The trip ended up being more than just dropping Natalie off. It was indeed something that was long overdue and I'm grateful to spend time with my uncle and aunt. The things they said truly helped me to "keep on keeping on" Though it was only an hour drive alone,it made a huge difference in my day. I had time to myself to think and recollect my thoughts. At times one loses sight of the wonderful possibilities and rewards that await us. I must admit I find myself guilty of this many, many times.
"Life's so hard so it can also be so wonderful. I believe we exist to feel joy. But the fact is, we don't experience joy on a smooth straight highway. To experience joy, we have to experience its opposite. Without sorrow and pain like the uphill climb on the roller coaster, there is no hill to descend, no thrill or reward, no true JOY." -Jane Wolsey Baadsgaard
Oh and I totally LOVE cruise control! hah! Its so much fun! Natalie laughed when I told her this. I just learned how to use it when I drove up to Davis Mountains for girls camp. And once I again I got to use it. Its funny how one can easily be fascinated and pleased.
