"Seeds we are planting today will grow into mighty oaks....."- Jacob Spori(1st President of campus) When new students arrive to BYUI we are given these little pin with an acorn on it. We become Student Alumni Ambassadors and then the day you graduate you receive another pin but with an oak tree on it. I thought that was really cute. And I LOVE trees. I always have. I use to paint, draw and photographs all the time.
Yesterday was the first day of school and today was the second... DUH.. But today was so amazing..... Just so incredible... I was on a spiritual high... My art teachers are wonderful! So incouraging.. So many people look down upon those who study art, I know when I was asked what I would major in and I replied photography no one took me serious.. But I am serious and art is magnificent, even FANTASTIC!!! All my classes here involve the gospel. I really appreciate how the professors apply religion to art!
This is the Taylor building, where all the religion classes are held and broadcastings as well. Oh man! I had my BOM class today... AMAZING!!! I was almost put to tears.. People must think Im crazy but I've been wanting this so bad for so long! When I spoke to my friends and told them how amazing school was here and why, then just didn't get it.
I got out of class early today. So I sat in the beautiful green grass and soaked up the sun... Enjoying it while I can :) I love how everyone does that here. We sit, lay and play in the grass.... Back at home people would call me a tree hugger or eye me weirdly... It's because everyone appreciates grass here :)
BTW, I probably won't be blogging very often.. soon... Our ward Bishop spoke to me today... I'll give an update about that Sunday evening..... ;) But there's a possibilty I may continue to blog on a regular basis, if I learn to balance things out... !!
