Arrival to Viareggio was magical. It was incredibly sunny and DRY!!! We checked into our apartment and immediately headed to the beach, 2 blocks away! We found people diving into the water in their bikinis and figured it was warm. So wrong. Water was freezing!!! So we just sat down on the beach, Tanner took off his shirt ;), his milky body needs as much sun as possible. It eventually got too cold for us and we followed our stomachs in search of food. I ate pizza almost every single day while in Italy. It's amazing I never grew tired of it. Tanner tried some tortellini and was a little disappointed. The gelato di cocco was GLORIOUS!!!! I don't know if you can tell by my photo how much passion was going into every lick...
One night Tanner was starving and we searched all over the little town for a pizza place, around 9:30 pm, and well we finally found one and decided to try out pizza di tonno. After getting our pizza to go and heading home I couldn't help realize something smelled horrible. I kept asking Tanner what that smell was. I suddenly realized nothing smells like that but TUNA! disgusting. Tanner begged me to try it, he said it wasn't too bad. And it wasn't, but will I ever order a pizza di tonno again? NO.
Our last morning in Viareggio we took a quick trip to the beach and found several HUGE jellyfish looking things...I poked it with a stick but nothing happened. Haha
Viareggio was incredibly lovely. We are so glad we randomly decided to stay there. Our host was so amazing as well! Viareggio, thank you for your hospitality! We shall return!
