So I gave it another try....

Despite the fact that I got home feeling agitated, extremely, extremely, annoyed...I skipped the nap and decided to give cookie making another try. You're asking "How hard can baking cookies be?" Let me just tell you! I tend to make the uncomplicated very complicated. That's just me. And I do hate it very much so. But here they are! These babies look so much better than Monday's fried chicken cookies. I have yet to post the photos... Will do. But yes... I feel a touch of optimism and will step it up and actually try making better cookies! I just had to feel successful in some way to encourage me to take on a bigger, baking project! :)

Peanut Hershey Kiss/ M&M Cookies
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 egg, beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoons milk
hershey kisses and M&Ms

DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
Sift together the flour, salt and baking soda; set aside.
Cream together the butter, sugar, peanut butter and brown sugar until fluffy. Beat in the egg, vanilla and milk. Add the flour mixture; mix well.
Shape into 40 balls and place each into an ungreased mini muffin pan.
Bake at 375 degrees for about 8 minutes. Remove from oven and immediately press kisses and M&MS into each ball. Cool and carefully remove from pan.

And of course I didn't completely follow directions.... I looked at them when I was half way through mixing everything.. Haha... But I'm going to have to break this nasty habit if I want to make masterpieces!!! Follow the "rules of baking"
